@kellymariestaunton_ absolutely smashed the @Warrington_Way 40-mile Trail Ultra, finishing in 5:56, over 10 minutes faster than last year π₯
This time, she nailed her fueling strategy π
πββοΈ She started fuelling early, Approx 25minutes into the race then;
π₯ 1 x 30g gel + 2 scoops of Strawberry Juicy BareFuel (β50g carbs) every 10 miles
π§ Mixed in 500ml flasks and taken steadily every 40 mins
β‘οΈ ~80g of carbs per hour, starting early to keep energy consistent
βGetting carbs and electrolytes in earlier definitely helped me last longer and avoid hitting the wall. The fueling plan worked loads, especially through the tough final 10 miles of mud and fields!β
That smart pacing and steady fueling helped her hold strong right to the finish proving that consistent carbs + electrolytes really do pay off πͺ
